Nebraska State Patrol SWAT arrests a Lyons man after a standoff
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) — Soldiers from the Nebraska State Patrol SWAT team arrested one person following a standoff in Lyon on Saturday night.
NSP was notified that the Burt County Sheriff’s Office and the Lyon Police Department were at the scene of an armed and barricaded individual at 100 State Street in Lyon at approximately 5:20 p.m. Sheriff’s office. The NSP SWAT team was activated after hours of trying to negotiate with the subject.
Around midnight, NSP SWAT entered the house and were able to arrest the subject without further incident. The subject, 61-year-old Chris Garrett, was arrested for making terrorist threats.
Additional charges are pending with the Burt County Sheriff’s Office. Garrett was committed to the Burt County Jail.
