Nebraska softball dominates Lamar in the season opener

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) — Nebraska softball kicked off its season with an upset win over Lamar on Friday.
The Huskers beat Lamar 8-0 in five innings.
Nebraska will now play South Dakota State in game two of the Houston Invitational at 12:30 p.m

Through four innings, Lamar was hitless against Nebraska’s Courtney Wallace.
Wallace pitched all five innings, finishing the game with one hit allowed and five strikeouts.
Wallace, Billie Andrews, Abbie Squier, Sydney Gray and Caitlynn Neal each took home one run in the season opener.
Andrews finished the game with an RBI double to secure the Huskers first win of the season.
