Plattsmouth, Nebraska – Plattsmouth couple were arrested on Wednesday by the local police department officers after they run out of gas following a short pursuit, police confirmed.
According to the incident report, deputies tried to stop a vehicle in Cass County Wednesday evening after they noticed that it had fictitious plates traveling on Main Street in Plattsmouth about 5:35 p.m.
When the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled the scene traveling with a high rate of speed.
As the vehicle traveled northbound on Highway into Sarpy County, the Nebraska State Patrol tried but failed to deploy spikes to flatten the vehicles tires.
After a short pursuit, the vehicle stopped on the side of the road because reportedly ran out of gas.
The driver, who was identified as the 47-year-old Gail Tierney of Council Bluffs, and the passenger, identified as the 40-year-old Desi Leroy Chamberlain from the Omaha area were both arrested.
The driver was well-known offender to the local authorities since the has been arrested several times in the last couple of years. According to the authorities, she had two prior counts of flight to avoid arrest in her history and was driving with a revoked license. She was booked on numerous charges including felony flight.
The passenger in the car that was also arrested was found to have an active warrant in Cass County and was allegedly in possession of meth, baggies, a scale, and other drug paraphernalia.
