Nebraska man accused of sexual assaulting a minor has been arrested in Big Springs, Nebraska State Patrol confirms

SCOTTSBLUFF, Nebraska – An adult male from Big Springs has been taken into custody by investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol in connection with a report of sexual assault on a minor.

NSP initiated the investigation this week after receiving evidence that a worker at South Platte Public Schools in Big Springs had inappropriate contact with a student. The information was received earlier this week. As a result of the inquiry, an arrest warrant was issued on Thursday for Joel Foster, who is 37 years old and lives in Big Springs.

On Thursday afternoon, Foster was taken into custody without any trouble. He was arrested on four separate charges, including two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of child abuse, and one act of first-degree sexual assault by a school employee. He was booked into the local jail.

Foster has been booked into the facility that serves Scotts Bluff County.

The probe is still going on right now. The Deuel County Sheriff’s Office has provided assistance to the National Sheriff’s Patrol.
