Nebraska Game and Parks Commission to Hold Ice Fishing Workshop This Weekend
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is hosting a free ice fishing practice Saturday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The practice will take place on the north shore of Lake Holmes and is open to anglers of all ages and experience levels.
Ice fishing enthusiast and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission fishing program coordinator Daryl Bauer has been fishing since we were kids.
“Ice fishing is a little different; it’s cold, it’s winter, but if you can warm up and prepare for it, it’s a lot of fun,” Bauer said. “You can catch a lot of fish and I think one of the best things about it is that you get out of the house in the winter.”
Limited temporary equipment will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Bait and instruction will be provided.
