Nearly 25 pounds of drugs found in Seward County during a traffic stop, two Chicago women arrested

LINCOLN, Nebraska – On Friday, the Seward County Sheriff’s Office discovered more than 24 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop.

At 11:03 a.m., deputies stopped a 2015 Mercedes SUV on Interstate 80 near Mile Marker 382 in Seward County for a concealed license plate. After a search of the car based on probable cause, an aftermarket compartment was discovered in the back floor.

There found approximately 24 pounds of cocaine and 12 grams of OxyContin in the compartment.

Samantha Francisco, 28, and Julany Rivera, 20, both of Chicago, Illinois, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to supply, possession of a controlled substance, and lack of a drug tax stamp.

Francisco and Rivera are being held at the Seward County Detention Center pending further court proceedings.
