Multi-vehicle crash in Bellevue fatal for two people, several more injured
BELLEVUE, Nebraska – Friday evening in Bellevue, three vehicles collided, resulting in two fatalities.
According to the Bellevue Police Department, officers responded to a rollover incident at the intersection of Fort Crook Road and Cornhusker Road at 8:13 p.m. on Friday.
The driver of a Honda Odyssey traveling southbound on Fort Crook Road reportedly ran the red light at Cornhusker Road, according to police.
The Honda Odyssee collided with two vehicles traveling eastbound on Cornhusker Road: a GMC Envoy and a Kia Sorento.
Victor Munoz Garcia, 30, a passenger in the Honda Odyssee, was identified as the fatality upon the cops’ arrival at the site.
Kirsten Fritz, the 23-year-old driver of the GMC Envoy, was hurt and died from her injuries after being transferred to UNMC.
Four additional persons were injured in the collision.
The injured victims were the driver of the Kia Sorento, aged 38, as well as two passengers, aged 16 and 46.
The Honda Odysee driver, 33 years old, who reportedly ran a red signal was also injured.
All injured individuals were transported to the UNMC for care.
The Sarpy County Crash Team was the first to arrive on the scene, but no citations have yet been issued.
The probe is still active.
