Multi-county chase on I-80 leads to arrest

NORTH PATTE, Neb. (Nebraska) – Soldiers of the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a Wisconsin man following a chase that began Monday in Dawson County on Interstate 80.

According to NSP, a soldier observed a Honda Civic heading east on I-80 near Lexington at mileage 232 at approximately 9:30 am. The soldier attempted to stop traffic, but the Honda driver accelerated and fled. The policeman started a chase.

The Honda reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour as it continued westbound. Honda has also passed other vehicles on the shoulder several times. Near mile mark 261, the driver voluntarily stopped the vehicle in the median. The carabinieri then arrested the driver without further incidents.

The driver, 44-year-old Marvin Adams of Appleton, Wisconsin, was arrested for willful reckless driving, flying to avoid arrest, and no driver’s license. He was deposited in the Dawson County Jail.
