Mount Crescent Ski Resort hosts the last weekend of the season
HONEY CREEK, Iowa (Nebraska) — Most people are excited about the start of spring, but some headed to Iowa for a chance to enjoy their last winter vacation at Mount Crescent Ski Resort on Sunday.
The last weekend of snow on the slopes featured night skiing, snowboarding, sensational sledding and a half-price snow sculpture contest. Participants in the sculpture competition had a chance to win prizes, including subscriptions for the next year.
“We’ve been very busy throughout the year, but generally at the end of March we see the viewership drop a bit, so we usually see a slight spike. People get their last chance. Yesterday we had a great ski session on a snowboard. (A) Lots of people get their turn and train before heading to Colorado for family skiing,” said site manager Chris Andrew.
The slopes close at 3:00 pm on Sunday, so people will have to wait until next year to ride the slopes of Crescent Mountain.
