Monday early morning fire outside of southwest Lincoln closed portion of W. Denton Road, reopened few hours later

Lincoln, Nebraska – Portion of W. Denton Road outside of southwest Lincoln was closed for several hours due to early morning fire in the area on Monday, local authorities confirmed.

According to the incident report, a fire broke out to the cheese factory at Shadow Brook Farm Country Market and deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at the scene following a 911 call around 4:30 a.m.

Deputies responded at the scene along with the fire crews and assisted them putting the fire under control.

Although the firefighters were able to put the fire under control in a short period of time before extinguishing it completely, the structure was completely destroyed in the fire incident. Luckily, the building was separated from the home in the property that remained undamaged.

LSO estimates the total loss to be roughly $200,000.

One person was injured and transferred to hospital for treatment. According to the crews at the scene, he suffered burn injuries on the hands and face, but the injuries are considered non-life-threatening and the victim is in stable condition.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. There is ongoing investigation that should reveal what led to the incident.
