Missing Aurora couple found dead

HASTINGS, Neb. (Nebraska) – Bob and Loveda Proctor were found deceased, according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 3:15 pm Saturday the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a citizen who found a vehicle stranded on a minimally maintained road north of 100th and Keystone Roads nearly 11 miles northeast of Kearney .

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle, which was identified as the missing Aurora vehicle, couple NE Robert and Loveda Proctor. Two adults were found deceased in the area of ​​the scene and preliminary investigations identified the people as Robert and Loveda Proctor. Foul play is not suspected.

The autopsies were ordered by the Buffalo County Attorney’s Office. The investigation is ongoing and includes the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, the Aurora Police Department and the Kearney Police Department.

The couple has been missing since mid-January. The Aurora Police Department and other law enforcement agencies have received several tips about their whereabouts.

In January, Grand Island Police said they were able to confirm sighting of the couple in the Faidley Avenue and Webb Road area on Wednesday, January 11 at 8:15 pm. They were in their blue Chrysler Pacifica. The GIPD said it had no information suggesting they had returned to Grand Island.

In February, Aurora Police confirmed on surveillance video that Robert and Loveda Proctor were observed on January 12, 2023 at 1:02 am. They were spotted at the Pump & Pantry on Highway 6 on the east side of Hastings.

More recently, Dive Team Adventures with Purpose is a group of divers who use sonar to locate missing people, aided in their search for the pair.

Bob was 89 and Loveda was 92.
