Mild Tuesday, winter returns on Wednesday
Another mild day awaits us, then winter returns for a couple of days. The highs will struggle on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before returning to heat for the weekend
Rain and snow will be possible on Wednesday with another chance of light snow on Friday. See all the forecast details in the video forecast above!
A quiet, balmy Tuesday is heading our way.
We’ll start the day in the mid 20’s and top out around the 50’s. That’s 7 degrees above average.
We’re actually above average for snowfall in Lincoln starting February 20th.
Above is a look at how we’ve done the last few years for snow in February.
There’s a chance it will snow late Tuesday through Wednesday for much of the state, but the best chance is in north central and northwestern Nebraska.
SE Nebraska will have a chance for rain to mix, which will limit the potential for snow.
Due to the potential for heavier snowfall to the north and northwest, winter storm warnings and winter storm watches are in place.
Snow starts late Tuesday and lasts through Wednesday. Some of it may persist into early Thursday.
The potential for snowfall is highest in north central and northwestern Nebraska, where over a foot is possible. SE Nebraska may not see an inch, but rain is most possible.
All the others will be in the middle with more snow as you go north.
Wind will also be a problem. It will start blowing from the north at 15-30+ mph on Wednesday so blowing snow will make travel difficult.
We still have a couple of days to finalize this prediction, so check back often for updates!
