Man arrested in NYC fatal hit by ex’s new boyfriend found inside SUV

Police have arrested a man who they say fatally shot his ex-girlfriend’s new beau, whose body was found in an SUV in Queens last week.

Semar Taylor, 25, of Queens, was arrested Monday and charged with the Feb. 27 murder of Michael Izquierdo, a 25-year-old Brooklyn resident, in an apparent feud over money, police said.

According to authorities, Taylor is believed to be Izquierdo’s girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.

Police suspect Izquierdo was stabbed at an unspecified location and then managed to get into an SUV, where he was found stabbed to the torso at the corner of Woodhaven Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue in Woodhaven around 8:10 p.m., police said.

Izquierdo was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Taylor, who lives in South Richmond Hill, Queens, was also charged with robbery, assault and harassment. According to the police, he was detained by the regional task force on fugitives.

It is not clear where he was arrested.
