LPS mentor arrested for child pornography
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – A Lincoln Public Schools mentor was arrested Wednesday in a child exploitation investigation.
Authorities searched the home of Joseph Maciarz Jr., 61, in South Lincoln, and found “several items of child pornography,” according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
They arrested him on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography and took him to the Lancaster County Jail.
LPS said as of Wednesday, Maciarz was no longer a mentor in the district.
Spokeswoman Mindy Burbach said the case does not involve LPS students, as far as the district has been informed.
