Lincolnites gather at McKinney’s Irish Pub to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) — Lincolnites flocked to McKinney’s Irish Pub early Friday morning to get the St. Patrick’s Day festivities underway.
The pub, located in the Haymarket, holds its 10th annual St Patrick’s Day celebration which starts at 9am on Friday
Bar patrons can grab a green beer and listen to live music, or even compete in a Lucky Charms food contest.
And the partying doesn’t stop on Friday, as the celebration will continue until Saturday night.
“The owner of McKinney’s is 100% Irish, so those are his roots, and he’s very proud of McKinney’s as well as celebrating St. Patty’s Day, because it’s an important holiday to him, and he wanted to bring it to Lincoln as well.” said Shelby Herman, general manager of the cafe.
The annual celebration is expected to attract over 3,000 people, giving a boost to activity before summer.
