Lincoln teenager arrested for hitting and injuring an LPD bike patrol officer near Centennial Mall and P Street
LINCOLN, Nebraska – On Friday morning, Lincoln police arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly crashing his motorbike into an LPD officer’s bicycle last week.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LPD) reports that 19-year-old Alexander Nelson was operating a green motorbike with green lights on August 11 when he struck and injured an LPD bike patrol officer near Centennial Mall and P Street.
According to authorities, Nelson fled the scene, but he was arrested eight days later on Friday morning. In an effort to disguise it, the motorcycle had been spray-painted and sold, but authorities traced it down.
Nelson was charged with Second-Degree Assault on a Police Officer, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Evading Arrest by Automobile, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
