Lincoln teenager arrested by the local police accused for causing the crash in August fatal for a motorcycle rider
LINCOLN, Nebraska – In August, Lincoln Police arrested an 18-year-old lady who was involved in a collision that resulted in the death of a 28-year-old motorcyclist at 35th and Cornhusker.
Wednesday around 8:30 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department, 18-year-old Alexis Kelly was arrested and charged with vehicular murder and DUI.
At 6:35 p.m. on August 29, law enforcement reported a motorcycle heading westbound on Cornhusker Highway approaching N. 35th Street with a green signal. Kelly was driving an eastbound vehicle in the left turn lane on Cornhusker at the junction with N. 35th Street. LPD stated that Kelly turned left in front of the motorcycle.
Pierce White, 28 years old and from Lincoln, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kelly was administered a Drug Recognition Exam after responding officers reportedly saw indicators of impairment and conducted a Drug Recognition Exam. LPD reported that subsequent toxicology testing confirmed the presence of marijuana.
