Lincoln Running Company gives advice on jogging outdoors when it’s early and cold

LINCOLN, Nebraska (Nebraska). Spring is just around the corner, and whether you’re running the Lincoln Marathon and Half Marathon in May, or just taking your daily walk, there are ways to get motivated and get outside.

Ann Ringlain of the Lincoln Running Company said the best advice for anyone looking to build a new habit is to just go out and find a buddy to join a running group. She said it’s best to have a group of people to keep you motivated; it also makes it less likely that someone will try to opt out of learning.

Finding the right pair of shoes for lacing is also important. Ringlain said the best shoes are the ones that mold to your foot and don’t feel like they weigh you down.

“You should have a pair of shoes that you’ll be happy to get up in and put on in the morning,” Ringlain said.
