Lincoln Parks and Recreation hosts job fairs to fill summer positions

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) — Lincoln Parks and Recreation is looking for more than 100 seasonal employees, city officials announced Thursday.

Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and Parks and Recreation Director Maggie Stuckey-Ross encouraged Lincolnites to apply for seasonal positions.

City officials say jobs are available for 16-year-olds at parks, swimming pools, fields and golf courses.

Applicants can view available jobs at lincoln.ne.gov/summerjobs or they can attend two hiring events later in March.

Summer job fair schedule:

  • March 25, 1-4pm – F Street Community Center, 1225 F St.
  • March 30, 2 to 6 pm – Muny Building, 2100 M St.

City officials say people won’t need to bring a resume to job fairs.

“We are looking for key players to join our dynamic, fun, and goal-oriented Parks and Recreation team, helping deliver our innovative summer programming like our popular summer camps and nature camps, swim lessons, and free public events like parties and play in the parks,” Stuckey-Ross said in the release. “A job in parks and recreation can help you build your resume and skills while gaining experience in leadership, decision making, and communication.”

City officials are looking to fill about 250 lifeguard jobs for the summer, while recreation centers are hiring part-time recreation leaders, park workers and concession staff immediately.
