Lincoln couple created mobile coffee shop and became instant hit in the area

LINCOLN, Nebraska – A man and a woman from Lincoln have opened a coffee shop with a distinct flavor profile and have given it an original moniker. They’ve been getting rather popular around town as of late.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Long ‘N Grinding Road first opened its doors for business. Visitors to the Sunday farmers market frequently stop at this husband-and-wife-run coffee truck, which operates out of a mobile trailer.

The Lincoln couple Donna and Tom Upton, who are fans of both the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the band The Beatles, came up with the idea for the “Long ‘N Grinding Road,” which is a play on words of the title of one of The Beatles’ most well-known songs, “The Long and Winding Road.”

They grind up coffee as a team, and as a result, they have become a fan favorite at the weekly Sunday farmers market in college view. As a result, they have been able to quickly amass a following of regular customers.

“It’s cool, but somewhat overwhelming sometimes when we started this we did get training but we jumped right into it and on the first day we were really busy and she said do you see that long line and I said ‘oh we kind of have to speed up,” the owner, Tom Upton, said. “It’s cool, but somewhat overwhelming sometimes when we started this we did get training but we jumped right into it and on that day we were really busy and she said do you see that long line

They provide a wide variety of beverages, including espresso, smoothies, and their most well-known concoction, which is called “The Gold Rush” and is a mixture of caramel and white mocha.

The Long N’ Griding Road is one of the first merchants that guests of the Sunday market will notice once they have entered the market and have entered the front entrance.

Additionally, ten percent of the store’s profits are given to the food bank in Lincoln.
