LFR responding to a fire at the East Lake Flats housing estate in southeast Lincoln
LINCOLN, Nebraska (Nebraska) — The Lincoln Fire and Rescue Department responded to a fire at an East Lake Flats apartment complex near South 91st Street and Pine Lake Road around 7:38 a.m. Saturday.
According to the LFR, firefighters received several reports of smoke and fire from an empty apartment under construction. Because of the new construction, the fire was able to spread throughout the area and the attic.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. As a result of the incident, no one was injured.
LFR said the apartment was not a total loss. Apparently, the fire started in the fourth and fifth apartments.
