Law enforcement begins compliance operation of all sex offenders in Lincoln County

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Nebraska) – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the North Platte Police Department have launched an all sex offender compliance operation within Lincoln County.

According to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, 12 two-person teams consisting of deputies and officers responded to about 90 residences in North Platte as of Tuesday.

Deputies will continue home visits to every residence in Lincoln County reported to have a sex offender living therein. Law enforcement agencies say the goal of the operation is to ensure that all sex offenders provide accurate and up-to-date information.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reports that willful acts of non-compliance led to one arrest, and several more are currently under investigation. At least ten sex offenders were ordered to immediately update information on minors or be arrested. This operation was funded by the US Marshal’s Service.
