Just one cigarette a day: Recent study reveals the real impact of smoking to our body

Just one cigarette a day increases the risk of coronary heart disease by 48% compared to non-smokers, with women having a heart attack risk more than double that of non-smokers.

Scientists from London concluded that people who smoke one cigarette a day have a 46% lower risk of heart attack compared to people who smoke 20 cigarettes, while the risk of stroke is 41% lower compared to smokers who smoke 20 cigarettes a day.

“There is no safe level of smoking when it comes to cardiovascular disease. If you want to preserve your health, it is necessary for smokers to completely stop smoking, and not to reduce the number of cigarettes” – says Dr. Alan Hacksow, leader of the research.

Those who smoke only one cigarette a day hope that the emergence of health problems will be reduced to a minimum.

This is true only in the case of lung cancer, where there is a 95% lower risk of developing this disease compared to people who smoke 20 cigarettes a day.
