Jokic dominated against the Lakers, failing to set a triple-double record by 1 assist

The Serbian center will have to wait for another game to reach the record triple-double after he was just one assist away from tonight.

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 110:99, and Jokic excelled on the floor in the “Ball” arena, scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists, and was just one assist short of a triple-double.

Had he succeeded in the feat, he would have set the record for the most triple-double performances by a center in the NBA. Jokic is currently tied with Wilt Chamberlain with 78 each, and it’s only a matter of time when he breaks out on top alone this season.

In the previous game, Jokic had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists because he was well guarded by Bosnian Jusuf NBurkiuc, while tonight LeBron James and Anthony Davis stood in his way.

But Jokic will have a chance for a rematch against the Lakers already on Monday when Denver visits Los Angeles.
