Intel will start to produce chips specifically designed for Bitcoin mining

Intel has announced that the next generation of bitcoin “digging” systems can be delivered with “Intel Inside” stickers.

The company announced that it plans to discuss the “Bonanza Mine” bitcoin mining chip at the upcoming conference.

Bonanza Mine has been described as an efficient, low-cost bitcoin mining ASIC, according to documents signed by three Intel employees.

For now, the program does not indicate whether Intel really plans to ship the Bonanza Mine as a finished product or just as a research project.

Intel has previously announced plans for a blockchain, and that it will not include standard processors or graphics cards. This is not surprising, given that bitcoin mining has long since shifted to ASIC.

Intel has not released information on hash rate, power or whether ASIC will be optimized for bitcoin only.
