Instagram users will soon see ads in the Explore section as well as on user profiles.
Think Instagram has too many ads? It seems that this problem is only going to get worse, as the company Meta has made a very unpopular decision – inserting ads in the Explore section as well as on user profiles.
Until now, users could see ads between regular posts, Story posts, and Reels posts, but according to the company’s new decision, ads can now be found in the Explore section itself.
Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, Instagram adds ads to the Feed of user profiles. In the past, ads were not placed on user profiles, but the company has now decided to show them to its users as they scroll through a profile’s posts.
Instagram has also allowed advertisers to place interactive AR ads, so users will soon be able to see the first augmented reality ads that will use the smartphone camera.
There is no doubt that users will not be too happy about this decision. After the company’s decision to copy the appearance of the TikTok platform, massive complaints from users forced Instagram to withdraw this decision.
There is no doubt that financial problems forced the company to make this decision. In the second quarter, Facebook recorded the first drop in revenue in the last 10 years, and founder Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of the list of the 10 richest people in the world.
