Incident in South Omaha fatal for a pedestrian, struck and killed

OMAHA, Neb. – Tuesday morning, Omaha police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was recognized by authorities as 50-year-old Manuel Reynoso-GutiƩrrez.

At 1:13 a.m., officers were summoned to the intersection of 23rd and G streets to investigate a person lying in the street. Then, first responders pronounced a male victim deceased at the site.

According to police, surveillance footage from house security cameras revealed a man wandering along G Street’s sidewalk. Eventually, he laid down near the southwest intersection corner. It was observed that a white four-door pickup, possibly a Chevrolet, struck him.

The driver escaped toward the east.
