The Huskers will face the UN at Memorial Stadium Aug. 30 at 7 p.m., according to the release.

To open the event, Kearney will play Wayne State College in an exhibition game at 4:30pm

After the Huskers game, a “national recording artist” will take the stage, according to the release. That artist has yet to be named.

“This will be a fantastic celebration of volleyball in the state of Nebraska,” athletic director Trev Alberts said in the release. “Our Husker program has long been a source of pride across the state and we are also proud that the success of Nebraska volleyball has played a large part in the exponential growth of the sport in Nebraska. We know our large fan base will embrace Volleyball Day in Nebraska and turn out in full force for this historic event. Go big red!

Gov. Jim Pillen is set to make a proclamation celebrating the impact of volleyball in Nebraska at a 1:30 p.m. press conference.

“This is going to be a special day for the sport of volleyball in this state,” said coach John Cook. “At Nebraska, we’re always aiming to ‘dream big’ and raise the bar, and there can’t be a much bigger way to do that than by playing an outdoor game in a 90,000-seat football stadium. We are thrilled to be able to include three other local schools as well to make it a statewide celebration. A ticket to Nebraska volleyball is one of the hardest tickets to get in town, so we are thrilled that this game will give so many other fans the opportunity to come watch us play and be a part of an historic day.

Tickets go on sale for season ticket holders on April 25. The public will have the opportunity to purchase tickets on April 26.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for high school age and under, according to the release.

For those unable to attend the game, the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. It can also be streamed on the FOX Sports app.

Nebraska is trying to set an attendance record for an NCAA volleyball game, which currently stands at 18,755 (Wisconsin vs. Florida on Sept. 16, 2022).
