Hundreds of moms will do some Christmas shopping this weekend on the Abide campus in north Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska – This coming weekend, on the Abide campus located in north Omaha, there will be a large number of moms doing some Christmas shopping.

Project Intentional, a charitable organization, is the organization that is supporting the Winter Wonderland Emporium Holiday Store. The event that took place the year before saw participation from about 600 mothers.

This year, in order to get ready for more than 1,700 children and 650 parents, the volunteers unloaded truckloads of toys, clothes, and books from the trucks.

The event is geared toward single mothers and offers them a variety of support services in addition to assistance throughout the holiday season.

Becca Starks, who works with Project Intentional, has stated that the organization is “very dedicated about making sure that all of our events have local NGOs.” The event that we are hosting this coming weekend will feature approximately twenty charitable organizations. And we want to make sure that when mothers come, their needs, no matter what they are, are satisfied, whether it be a safe place to live, protection from domestic violence, baby wipes, diapers, or formula.

This year’s event will be held at the Abide Omaha campus near the intersection of 45th and Wirt streets on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The moms will visit 12 of the organization booths to collect tickets and obtain information on resources that are accessible to them on an ongoing basis before they go shopping for free clothing, toys, and books for their children.
