Habitat for Humanity helps spread love on Valentine’s Day
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Nebraska) – It’s Love Day, and the Flower Market and Habitat for Humanity have teamed up to help spread love on Valentine’s Day.
It was the busiest time of the year for the flower market and they started to need help to meet the high demand for flower deliveries.
Four years ago, The Flower Market wanted to partner with a non-profit, and owner Sarah Talbott, who has some ties to Habitat for Humanity board members, have partnered every Valentine’s Day ever since to help get more orders. While Habitat for Humanity is helping them, the flower market has promised to match every dollar for every delivery made by Habitat for Humanity.
“Whether it’s a single rose, a dozen wrapped or a large bouquet, the smallest gesture or the largest bouquet shows you’re thinking of them and that they’re special to me, and flowers are a great way to do that,” she said Talbott. of her role on Valentine’s Day.
Habitat for Humanity Executive Director Dalene Skates takes great delight in some of the surprised faces when delivering flowers.
“On a day like today when it’s a little gloomy, there’s nothing like getting up on the porch to ring the doorbell and the door opens and you’re there with a big bouquet of flowers, man, that’s so much fun.” said Skates.
This is their fourth year together on Valentine’s Day, and both Skates and Tallbott are poised for a fifth year.
