Grand Island man arrested for threatening to kill ex and his family

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (Nebraska) – A Grand Island man is facing 12 felony charges after police said he threatened to harm multiple people Tuesday night.

Grand Island Police arrested Reynier Rivero Faez, 28, on four counts of making terrorist threats, four counts of using a deadly weapon to commit a felony, two counts of child abuse and attempted assault in the first degree and assault in the second degree.

The allegations stem from an incident at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Sutherland Street on the Grand Island.

Police were called after Faez reportedly drove to his ex-girlfriend’s house and used his vehicle to crash into property belonging to his family and the gate to the apartment.

The GIPD said in the affidavit that Faez continued to threaten to kill the family of six, who were present at the time, as he attempted to hit them with his vehicle. The affidavit goes on to say that as the family fled, the suspect allegedly threatened to kill them again by holding up a machete and then throwing it at them.

Police say when Faez attempted to walk through a property gate to hit the group, part of the fence broke, hitting a family member.

Police said in the affidavit that Faez threatened to assault and kill two of his ex-girlfriend’s sons who were present.

Eventually Faez left and the police were able to track him down to a nearby hotel.

He was then arrested on multiple charges.
