Governor Pillen appoints Jim Shire to the Board of Trustees of the University of Nebraska.
LINCOLN, Nebraska. (Nebraska) — Governor Jim Pillen has announced his appointment as District 3 Regent on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.
Pillan says he is appointing Jim Shear, former speaker of the Nebraska State Legislature, as District 3 Regent.
“Jim is a government official who will work on the development of the University of Nebraska,” Pillan said. “He believes in excellent education, the importance of agriculture, and conservative financial leadership.”
Scheer represented District 19 in the Nebraska Legislature from 2013 to 2021 and was elected Speaker of the Legislature in 2017. Prior to this, Scheer served on the Norfolk School Board when he was mayor of Norfolk.
