Goodwill opens new training center in South Omaha on Tuesday
OMAHA, Nebraska (Nebraska) — A new Goodwill training center was opened in South Omaha Tuesday.
The center near 36th Street and L Street will provide free specialized training programs for residents of Omaha, Council Bluffs, Bellevue and surrounding areas.
The goal is to remove financial and accessibility barriers to professional development and promotion.
Goodwill Omaha President and CEO Toby Mathuser says the new center is made possible by buyers and donors.
“This Mission Programming Training Center would not exist if not for every one of our customers and every one of our sponsors. So really, when you think about donating your used items, that’s the reason people should donate to goodwill. And we’re so grateful to the community,” Mathauser said.
She says that they will offer four areas of preparation for training. These include a Financial Technician, a Youth Development Specialist, an Adult Case Specialist, and a Customer Service Specialist. They will also offer CNA training courses, all at no cost to the community.
