Global Women’s Forum draws women from across the county to Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska (Nebraska) — Women from across the country and from Nebraska gathered Saturday for a forum dedicated to empowering women and helping them achieve success in their personal and professional lives.

Speakers at the Global Women’s Forum shared compelling stories of overcoming adversity to achieve their dreams.

The event was attended by leaders from several Nebraska organizations and keynote speaker Juliet Ibrahim. She is an entrepreneur, writer, and multiple award-winning actress.

“It’s hard for us women to say, ‘Let’s take time away from family on a weekend like this to say I’ll take care of myself. I’m going to learn what I can apply to my business and succeed in my business.” We work and wear so many hats, so I would encourage someone next year to put in the effort to set this time and say it’s my investment in myself,” said Marie Hancock, a reporter and financial educator.

In addition to March being Women’s History Month, next Wednesday is International Women’s Day. This is a day dedicated to the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world.
