Girls in Civil teach the next generation of women in STEM
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – To prepare for the next generation of STEM studies, Morrill Hall organized an event aimed at introducing girls to the field.
Five booths in Mammoth Hall offered hands-on activities for all visitors.
Each booth held a lecture related to civil engineering and its relationship to everyday life.
Gabriela Gonzalez said she hopes those who have stopped will continue pursuing a STEM field.
“I like it because they learn different things and sometimes kids know more than we do.”
He said it was inspiring to see so many interested in learning about civil engineering.
Visit the Girls in Civil website for more information on the group.
You can see the next “Sunday with a Scientist” on the last weekend of March.
