Fruit drink can help ‘significantly’ reduce visceral fat in ‘weeks’ – study
Visceral fat is a ticking time bomb. Hiding deep inside your belly, fat can increase your risk of health problems ranging from diabetes to dementia. Therefore, it is extremely important to get rid of visceral fat. Luckily, one sugary drink can come to the rescue.
Considered dangerous, visceral fat can release toxic chemicals, causing inflammation in body tissues.
Unlike fluctuating fat that you can see under the skin, visceral fat cannot be pushed.
While you may not see it, fat needs to be kept in check to avoid health problems.
According to a study published in the Journal of Oleo Science, an apple drink can help burn visceral fat in a matter of weeks.

The research team studied the effect of the polyphenols found in apples on people of different weights.
In case you’re not in the know, polyphenols describe natural plant compounds found in fruits and vegetables.
These herbal treats are known for their disease-fighting mechanisms, as well as their ability to reduce inflammation and the risk of heart disease.
After studying a total of 124 participants, the researchers compared subjects ranging from “moderately underweight” to “moderately obese”.
The participants were divided into two groups: one group could enjoy apple drinks and the other group could enjoy polyphenol-free drinks.
They were also instructed to drink drinks every day for 12 weeks and then take strong doses for only four weeks.
The apple drink group consumed drinks with 600 milligrams of polyphenols.
As for the amount of the actual drink, at first they were given 340 grams each day, and in the second part of the trial, the dose was tripled.

After eight weeks of taking the apple drink, the researchers began to notice a difference in visceral fat area.
Long-term consumption of the polyphenol-rich drink was able to “significantly” reduce participants’ belly fat levels.
However, the study found that these effects were only seen in those who started the study with a lot of visceral fat.
The team explained that “there were no significant changes in the area of visceral fat in subjects in the apple group, which started with a normal area of visceral fat.”
In addition, these same benefits were not seen in the placebo group.
One of the reasons apples can help you lose weight is because of their pectin content.
Pectin is a type of fiber that breaks down slowly in the body, making you feel full longer.
This type of fiber also binds to water and limits the amount of fat your cells can absorb.
What’s more, the study did not reveal any clinical problems with blood tests or physical examinations in the apple group.
