Friday night crash in Georgetown County was fatal for Williamsburg County woman; her identity is now revealed
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. – Friday night, the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office identified the victim in a fatal two-car crash in Georgetown County.
According to Georgetown County Coroner Chase Ridgeway, Loretta McCutcheon, 57, of Williamsburg County, died at the scene of the collision.
According to Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, McCutcheon was heading east on SC 51, approximately 8 miles west of Georgetown, when they crossed the center line and struck a Ram pickup truck traveling west on the same route just before 10 p.m. on Friday.
After colliding with the pickup, McCutcheon veered into the ditch. Tidwell stated that McCutcheon was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The pickup truck driver had non-life-threatening injuries.
