Friday will be much calmer, sunny and slightly warmer. Patchy fog is possible in the morning around 1011, especially in areas where snow fell on Wednesday evening and Thursday. Any fog that forms should dissipate by noon and leave plenty of sunshine for the rest of the day! A warm front will rise over the area on Friday, so 5-15 mph southwesterly winds and sunshine should bring temperatures slightly warmer. However, there will be no strong warming, and snow on the ground will prevent significant warming. High temperatures will cover a period of 30 to 40 degrees below zero. It will be coolest in the south/southeast.

Look for highs in the 30s and 40s on Friday. (Nebraska)

Mostly clear skies persist during the night hours with a few patches of patchy fog possible until Saturday morning. However, it will be a windy night with southwesterly winds between 15 and 20 m/s, with gusts up to 30 m/s. The night will be mild, with temperatures above average. Low values will only be for teenagers over 20 years old.

Saturday will bring a bit more cloud cover to the picture with partly or mostly cloudy skies. Despite the cloud cover, temperatures seem to warm up a bit. High temperatures will be between 30 and 40 degrees. Areas with snow cover will be cooler than areas without it!

Saturday night will be partly cloudy with above average lows again….mostly in the 20s. Patches of patchy fog are also possible.

Sunday will again be partly cloudy with some warming. Highs will be in the range of 30 to mid 40.

A calm and dry end of the week is expected. President’s Day looks set to be the warmest day in the next 7 days as temperatures dip into the 20s by Thursday. The chance of precipitation returns from Tuesday to Thursday.

The weekend will warm up, with another round of cold and wintry precipitation expected next week. (Nebraska)
