Omaha, NE – Friday afternoon house fire in Omaha caused property damage, the fire crews who responded at the scene confirmed.
According to the local fire department, crews responded at the scene near 16th and Emmet streets on Friday around 1:30 p.m. following a 911 call in regards to a house fire.
The fire crews reported flames and smoke coming out of the house as soon as they arrived at the scene.
Shortly after their arrival, the fire crews were able to put the fire under control and completely extinguish it shortly after.
The family that lives in the house already had left the house and no one was injured.
One of the family members later said that the house is more than 100 years old and they believe it was completely destroyed in the fire.
There is ongoing investigation about the incident that should reveal the cause of the fire.
