Forecast for Sunday: brief ‘cool snap’ with more clouds

LINCOLN, Nebraska (Nebraska) – A cold front will bring slightly cooler temperatures and more cloudiness around 10:11 am Sunday. Sunshine and warmer temperatures return on Monday with a calm climate. Active weather will bring rain from Monday evening to Thursday… followed by a sharp drop in temperature.

Sunday’s cold front will bring partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures… but the highs will still remain above average. High temperatures will range from mid-30s to mid-50s, and in most regions -40. Winds will be light at 5 to 10 m/s from the west, which will eventually change direction to the north with the passage of the front. This front is likely to be dry, but light dusting cannot be completely ruled out.

Cloudy skies will clear up and become mostly clear during the night hours. Low temperatures will be moderate and seasonally warm again in the low to mid-20s range.

Monday Morning Lows (Nebraska)

On Monday, high pressure will set in the region, resulting in mostly sunny skies and warmer air being channeled into the region with southwesterly winds. All this, in turn, means… warming is just around the corner! The highs will skyrocket to the 50s and be widely distributed in 1011 countries. The wind will blow from the southwest at 10 to 15 m/s with gusts up to 25 m/s.

Monday High Temperatures (Nebraska)

The picture changes on Monday evening as the chance of rain increases in the region and will continue into Valentine’s Day. We will have a brief lull in activity from Tuesday evening to Wednesday afternoon…..because the chance of rain/snow will return Wednesday evening and turn to snow overnight and continue through Thursday. The sky dries up by Friday and Saturday. During the new working week, the temperature will drop sharply to 20 degrees on Thursday and Friday. The highs will recover by Saturday.
