Norfolk, Nebraska – An engine failure was to blame for an automobile fire that occurred Thursday afternoon on southbound Highway 81.
At 4:20 p.m., Norfolk Incident Crews rushed to the fire and saw considerable smoke and flames coming from the car, according to Captain Lannce Grothe.
Grothe reports that it took firemen around five minutes to extinguish the fire and fifteen minutes to overhaul the vehicle.
The sheriffs of Madison County aided the Norfolk Fire Division. The vehicle incurred almost $9,000 in damages. No one on the scene was injured.
