Eppley Airfield in Omaha gets new direct flight to Austin, Texas
OMAHA, Nebraska (Nebraska) — Travelers from Omaha will soon get a faster way to get to Austin, Texas.
Allegiant, the US low-cost carrier, announced on Monday that it is adding a new seasonal non-stop flight from Omaha to Austin.
Most flights from Omaha to Austin typically have at least one stopover and travel time is between four and six hours. The estimated travel time for Allegiant’s new non-stop flights will be two to three hours.
“We are thrilled to expand our Omaha network and announce uninterrupted service to the vibrant city of Austin, Texas,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant senior vice president and chief revenue officer. “Whether you’re exploring the city’s many colorful scenes and historic landmarks or eating Texas BBQ, Austin is the perfect backdrop for any vacation.”
The non-stop flight departs through Eppley Airfield and arrives at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
“Allegiant’s latest expansion with Eppley Airfield provides uninterrupted access between two exciting and vibrant cities, Omaha and Austin.” said Dave Roth, chief executive officer of the Omaha Airport Authority. “We are delighted that Allegiant has seen growth opportunities in Omaha with this investment and the addition of Austin as the eighth non-stop destination in our community.”
Allegiant reports that the seasonal route will operate from June 15 to November 12, 2023. A one-way fare on the new route starts at $49.
