Early Sunday morning shooting in Georgetown nightclub fatal for one person, the shooter arrested
GEORGETOWN, S.C. – Following a fatal shooting that took place inside a nightclub in Georgetown early on Sunday, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has announced that a man has been taken into custody and charged with murder.
According to a statement made by Jason Lesley, a spokesperson for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, Darius Rashawn Grant, age 28, of Conway, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon in connection with a violent crime that took place at a nightclub located on Bouie Way off of Old Pee Dee Road.
The victim has been named as Enis Jenerette, 35, from Conway. This information was provided by the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office. At the site, Jenerette’s death was confirmed by medical personnel.
The two individuals are said to have gotten into a verbal dispute prior to the shooting, according to the deputies.
The Georgetown County Detention Center was where Grant was being kept at the time.
