Driver has life-threatening injuries after north Lincoln crash

LINCOLN, Nebraska – After a collision that occurred early on Sunday morning in the north of Lincoln, one person was brought to the hospital with injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.

At 1:35 in the morning, the Nebraska State Patrol was dispatched to the roundabout at 14th and Superior Streets in response to a crash involving a single vehicle.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that a Chevrolet Malibu was moving very quickly southbound on 14th Street. Because the vehicle was unable to properly enter the roundabout, it collided with the enormous landscape blocks that were located in the median of the roundabout.

The motorist was sent to Bryan Health Center West Campus in critical condition after suffering injuries in the collision.

It is believed that alcohol played a role in the collision that occurred. The inquiry into the crash is still ongoing.
