Douglas County added just more than 100 new Covid-19 cases and 4 corona-related deaths

Omaha, Nebraska – The situation with the Covid-19 is improving and the number of new Covid-19 cases continues to decline.

Douglas County Health Department on Monday issued the latest Covid-19 daily report.

As per the report, Douglas County added four more deaths to the overall statistics. Just for comparison, the department on Friday reported six Covid-related deaths which is considered high mortality rate compared to the number of cases.

In the press release, DCHD said that one woman and three men, all ages 75-95, have died. Two of the victims were unvaccinated, while two of them were vaccinated.

With these four reported deaths on Monday, the total number of corona-related deaths in Douglas County since the start of the pandemic now reached 1,072.

The health department also reported 109 new Coivd-19 cases. These cases are the two-day weekend numbers.

Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of cases in Douglas County now reaches 141,579 cases. What is even more encouraging is the fact that the seven-day average dropped from 69 cases to about 57 cases.

The local positivity rate, reported every Saturday, continued to fall, dropping from 9.4% last week to 6.6%.

The number of hospitalized patients dropped to 207 on Monday which is 18 less compared to Friday last week when 225 Covid-patients were treated in hospital.
