Donald Trump says he will be arrested on Tuesday
Former President Donald Trump said he was expecting an arrest Tuesday in Manhattan and urged his followers to protest his pending charge.
“FURTHER FROM THE REPUBLIC THE CANDIDATE AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE ARRESTED TUESDAY NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, RETURN OUR NATION!” he thundered in a capital-letter message to his followers Saturday morning in Social Truth.
In his post, he called the office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg “CORRUPT AND HIGHLY POLITICAL.”
Trump again claimed he did not commit any crime and reminded his followers that Bragg’s campaign was heavily funded by liberal billionaire George Soros.
Bragg’s looming allegations are said to focus on Trump paying silence money to Stormy Daniels, an adult star who claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2016 and received $130,000 in billionaire money to keep her quiet during his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump denied the alleged treason.
Daniels’ lawyer said Wednesday that his client has met with the Manhattan prosecutor’s office and that she is willing to testify in any trial as a witness.
Michael Cohen, a former Trump attorney and aide, pleaded guilty in 2018 to violating federal campaign finance law relating to the payout and was sentenced to three years in prison.
