OMAHA, Nebraska – In October, a stretch of a road near a hospital will be closed.
According to Nebraska Medicine, beginning on Monday, a portion of Dewey Avenue near the hospital’s emergency center will be closed.
Between the Nebraska Medical Center Emergency Department and the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center delivery dock, Dewey Avenue will be closed.
The road will be closed between Saturday and October 30.
Patients still have access to the emergency department.
During the closure, access to the emergency department will be restricted to 44th and Farnam streets. According to Nebraska Medicine, this is already the most common entrance to the emergency department.
According to Nebraska Medicine, the closure is for soil stabilization in preparation for the demolition of the former Munroe-Meyer Institute building.
