Dallas teenager shot and injured in Saturday morning shooting incident, police

Authorities report that a 14-year-old child was shot and injured early Saturday morning in Dallas.

At before 1:00 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 9600 block of CF Hawn Freeway.

A 22-year-old man was traveling eastward on the CF Hawn Freeway with two passengers when a white 2008-2012 Chevy Silverado cut him off, according to Dallas police.

The 22-year-old driver continued driving and observed that the same vehicle was following him. At the intersection of the CF Hawn Freeway and Prairie Creek Road, the suspect vehicle allegedly came beside him and opened fire.

The driver and rear passenger noticed that the 14-year-old male sitting as the vehicle’s front passenger had been shot and was unresponsive. The driver then exited the motorway at the next exit, parked, and called for emergency assistance for the injured passenger.

According to reports, the suspicious vehicle kept driving eastbound on CF Hawn Freeway.

The 14-year-old child was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition once Dallas Fire Rescue arrived.
