Convicted for sexually assaulting a minor on multiple different occasions, 50-year-old Nebraska man sentenced to at least 15 years in prison
LINCOLN, Nebraska – A Nemaha County court sentenced a former Lincoln sports reporter to at least 15 years in prison after he was convicted of repeated instances of sexually assaulting a juvenile.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, 50-year-old Brian Rosenthal pled no guilty to three counts of sexual assault in the first degree. He allegedly initiated a relationship with a teenage boy by leveraging his status and connection to the victim’s family.
Per the publicly available court records, Brian Rosenthal apparently reached out to the teenager’s friends over social media.
Previous employers of Rosenthal include the Lincoln Journal Star and Husker Athletics. He has been sentenced to 30 to 50 years in jail and will be eligible for release in 2036.
