CNN reporter hit by rampant crime in San Francisco shortly after arriving in city issues warning
The CNN reporter’s experience in San Francisco further highlights the massive crime problem American cities face.
On Friday, CNN Senior National Correspondent Kyung La revealed on Twitter that the film crew’s rental car was broken into while they were interviewing at City Hall.
“Robbed. One more time,” she wrote. “@jasonkCNN and I were at City Hall in San Francisco do an interview for @CNN. We had security to watch over our rental car + crew car. The thieves did it in less than 4 seconds. Security stopped the assholes from stealing other bags. But seriously, this is ridiculous, ”she wrote.
Was robbed. Again. @jasonkCNN and I was at City Hall in San Francisco to do an interview for @CNN. We had security to watch over our rental car + crew car. The thieves did it in less than 4 seconds. She then tweeted that the guards guarding the car failed to stop the thieves, but did manage to photograph their fleeing car.
Our hired security guard tried to grab the crooks (I’m glad he didn’t get hurt!), but he took this photo of the getaway car.
To the assholes who stole our stuff – I hope someone on this site sees your plate and gets caught. pic.twitter.com/k7VL0J9JHJ— Kyung La (@KyungLahCNN) March 17, 2023
La then warned anyone planning to visit San Francisco, stating that even with private security, you still run the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
“San Francisco is a beautiful city. This is our third day here and I really enjoyed spending time here,” she said. “But if you do visit this city, know that even with hired security looking after your car, this is not enough.”

After detailing how she managed to get on a plane home despite having her ID stolen, La ended her thread by saying that the people of San Francisco are sick of crime and “deserve better.”
The restaurant staff said @jasonkCNN that they were unhappy with the crime in San Francisco and saw that Jason’s “whole life” was in his bag. I had to look for his number and finally found a business card. San Francisco is filled with good, disappointed people who deserve better.

Ironically, La and her team were in San Francisco to talk about “voter disaffection over rampant street crime.”
BY THE WAY; @jasonkCNN and I’m in San Francisco doing a report about the dissatisfaction of voters because of rampant street crime. #irony

This story should serve as a wake-up call for everyone who is still unaware of the problem of crime in our country. big cities.
La and her team had private security guarding their belongings while they were interviewed at City Hall.
By all accounts, they should have been safe from crime.
But instead, their car was broken into, and even with guards, the thieves were able to snatch valuables from the car and quickly escape.
Do you avoid big cities because of the high crime rate?
Of course, it is not surprising that San Francisco, which has accepted all crazy left idea as far as law and order is concerned, there has been an increase in crime to the point where people with private security at City Hall are being robbed.
La is absolutely right: the people of San Francisco, like any major city in America, deserve much more from their leadership. Most of them are hardworking people who don’t deserve to have their lives ruined by crime.
It is high time for our local leaders to take responsibility and do everything possible to keep the streets of their cities safe for citizens.
